Ferozepur, April 20, 2023: Adopting zero tolerance against illegal mining as per the directions of the Chief Minister, Punjab, the Ferozepur police have registered one case under Mining and Mineral Act at Police Station, Mallanwala, against  five persons and some unknown person.

Divulging with details, Randhir Kumar, SP(D) said, during the routine patrolling by the police team near Changali Jadid, a tip-off was received that certain identified persons along with some unidentified drivers are doing illegal mining in village Sudh Singh Wala in the early wee hours and on raiding can be caught red-handed.

Working on the inputs, a case was registered for illegal mining against Gurbir Singh, Kulbir Singh, Jagdish Singh Malhi, Sewak Singh all resident of village Sudh Singh Wala in district Ferozepur Later on, raiding only Sewak Singh was arrested with with recovery of five sand loaded tipper and tractor and one JCB.  The hunt is on to nab the other accused, said SSP.

He said, the police has adopted ‘zero tolerance’ against ‘illegal mining’ mafia and will not tolerate any illegal activities in the district.  Surprising checking is going on round the clock for effective monitoring over the illegal mining in the district, as per the directions of CM Punjab.
