Ferozepur District becomes leading district in Punjab for setting up Skill Development Centers

Ferozepur, August 13, 2016: Ferozepur District has become the leading district in the state for setting up Skill Development Centers for imparting free vocational based trainings to youths under the Skill Development Mission Scheme of the Punjab Government.

 

Today, Sandeep Kaura, Advisor Skill Development Punjab Government inspected the skill centres operation in Ferozepur District under Zila Parishad at Red Cfoss Building and Chetna Hall Ferozepur Cantt.

 

Having interaction with the trainees, Sandeep Kaura said, Ferozepur is the only district in the state where Skill Development Centers are running successfully and stands at the first place for providing employment to the unemployed and other districts in the state should follow it.

 

Kamal  Sharma, Member National Executive BJP said, the Skill Development Centers in the district are proving helpful for the unemployed to stand on their own feet.  Giving a message to the youths, both boys and girls, Kamal Sharma appealed to the youths that instead of running after the government jobs, they should start their own business with full dedication and devotion,  after getting training for the vocational based courses.

 

Er.DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner said that nine Skill Centers are running in Ferozepur. The centers being run under Zila Parishad are providing the free training courses by the private company from Bangalore in Bio-metric Data Entry Operator, Sales Associate and Business Facilitator.

 

Under the Punjab Skill Development Mission Scheme, the trainees will be given training 430 hours means four months courses free of cost and the company will arrange for their employment at the end of the course at the wages of Rs.7000 to Rs.10,000, he added.

 

Likewise, in the district, the training courses for the unemployed youths are being extended, for preparation of muffler, socks, hand gloves, caps, school bags, school uniforms, mobile repairs and AC repairs, said DC.
