Ferozepur: 75th mobile during 2021 found from inside Jail
Ferozepur, July 4, 2021: One more mobile was recovered during the search operation carried out by Assistant Superintendent Satnam Singh on Monday. It was the 75th mobile during 2021 till date.
Number of times recoveries of banned items have been made and smuggling in of such items has raised a question mark on the security arrangements as to how these are smuggled in. However, the vigil staff and in-puts have thwarted the attempt to its usages.
A sudden checking was conducted of Barrack number 2 when a mobile of Oppo touch screen with batter and SIM card was recovered hidden in the small tree outside the barrack.
During the year 2020, 112 mobiles and in 2021 in six months period 75 mobiles – in January 7 mobiles, February 10, March 25, April 6, May 5 mobiles and 4 headphones and June 21 mobiles, 3 SIM cards and 2 charger have beeen recovered from inside the jail. The jail authorities have failed to put a security check over the smuggling in of mobiles and throwing of packets via ‘Air Route’ in wrapped packets, balls, diapers besides other banned items like ‘zarda’ sachets, opium, drugs etc.
A case on the complaint of Assistant Superintendent has been registered under Section 42 of Prisons Act, against unidentified person with appoint of Roop Singh as IO.
