Due to Corna curbs, Hussainiwala Baisakhi Mela gives deserted look
Ferozepur, April 13, 2021: In the Corona curbs and no arrangements of transportation of busses and rail, as hitherto in the previous years, this year the Baisakhi Mela at Hussainiwala gave a deserted look.
Only a handful of people were seen from the adjoining villages at Martyrs Memorial of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, B.K.Dutt at Hussainiwala.
Every year on April 13, the Baisakhi mela is celebrated with great enthusiasm and people from far off places visit this place to pay tributes to the martyrs. This time the stalls on the road side and exhibition by various houses and especially no transportation arrangements of rail and buses due to corona curbs, were missing.
Ajaib Singh who had come to celebrate Basikahi mela was disappointed on seeing no crowd and arrangements. He agreed perhaps the Corona fear has kept the people at home. But there is a need to develop the place to attract the visitors otherwise the new generation will be deprived of the importance of these festivals and sacrifices of martyrs for the freedom of India.
