Doctors flay adhocism in Health Department

Ferozepur, August 2, 2017: Punjab Civil Medical Services Association – PCMSA – Punjab in a meeting has criticized the policy of adhocism  being followed in the Health Department  in the matter of promotions and appointment at higher  posts.

PCMSA demanded promotion of deputy directors to post of Joint director and above as per Punjab Govt. rules to end adhocism prevailing in the health Department.

As per rules employees working on extension, cannot be promoted to higher posts during period of extension and they will have to work at the same post they were working at time of attaining age of 58 years.

The government is giving charge of higher posts in the directorate to non eligible persons rather than promoting from the available and eligible Deputy Director ranked officers. The recent appointment of a junior officer to the post of Director ESI which is the no.3 post in hierarchy is an example of this.

Association has decided to meet the Health Minister and principal secretary to lodge a protest regarding this and to demand promotion as per government rules, said Dr Gagandeep Singh President PCMSA Punjab.
