Decisive War Against Drugs: 631 accused arrested in 506 cases during 2023 in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, November 3, 2023: With the decisive war against drugs, on the directions of Chief Minister, Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann to root out the menace of drugs from the state, The Ferozepur police has put its hand on 631 accused in 506 cases registered under NDPS Act during the current year from January to October 2023, in its anti-drugs campaign.
Divulging with details, SSP Ferozepur, Deepak Hillori said, in all, 631 accused have been arrested in 506 cases registered under NDPS Act with the recovery of 71.614 kg heroin, 180 kg poppy husk, 12.013 kg opium, 1,05,490 habit forming tablets, capsules, 1.480 kg intoxicant powder, 147 kg bhang and Rs.42,88,265 as drug money.
He said, under Section 68-F, the property has also been seized of the value of Rs.10.62 crore in 23 cases of the accused involved in drug trade and making properties with illegal trade of drugs and more such cases are in the pipeline to get orders from the Competent Authority at Delhi. He said, under the freezing orders were displayed outside the designated properties, the same cannot be sold or transferred till further orders from the Competent Authority in this regard. However, the decisive war against drugs will continue to make Ferozepur a drug-free district.
