DC Ferozepur kicks off wheat procurement in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, April 22, 2019: Deputy Commissioner Chander Gaind today, kicked off the wheat procurement in all the grain markets of the districts.
At first, the Deputy Commissioner visited the grain market Talwandi Bhai, where he took stock of the procurement process. He interacted with the farmers and took their valuable feedback regarding purchase.
He asked the officials of the purchase agencies to buy each grain of the farmer, without causing any trouble to them.
Reiterating his commitment toward hassle free purchasing, he exhorted the farmers to bring moisture free grains in the market to get good price of their grain. He expressed hope to have bumper production this year in the district. Following this, the purchase was started in Ferozepur City, Ferozepur Cantt and Guru Harsahai grain markets.
As per the information, 325 MTs wheat was procured in Ferozepur district – 140 MT by Pungrain, 100 MT by Markfed, 20MT by Punsup and 65 MT by Pb Agro whereas PSWC and FCI did not make any purchase.
