Ferozepur, October 9, 2016:  Counting atrocities on the dalits all over India, Dalit Kranti Dal (DKD) today announced to contest upcoming Assembly elections due in 2017 in alliance more than a dozen organizations in Punjab including newly formed Succha Singh Chhotepur’s Apna Punjab Party.

Addressing the media persons, Jaswinder Singh Dhaliwal, National Vice President, DKD said, the position will be cleared about fielding the number of  candidates in the coming elections after the mega rally proposed to be held on November 15 where more than fifty thousand dalits are expected to participate at Moga.

Dahliwal said, Kejriwal’s AAP is the B team of RSS as he has all the time attacked on Modi and not on BJP.

Naming the Congress, AAP, Akali Dal and BJP, he said, all are anti-dalit parties with special reference to Raja Warring for giving statement to cancel the reservation quota for dalits.

He however, advocated for all dalits who are economically weaker and stand by them.

He said, the dalit youths are very active now on social media to bring a change as change is the law of nature and this time it will be seen in Punjab and SC BC voters who are 35 per cent in Punjab,  will play a vital role in this change.

Speaking on this occasion, Lal Singh Sulhani, Punjabi writer-turned-politician said, after being disappointed from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), he has joined hands with DKD.

He accused the Badal government for paying little attention towards dalits except giving statements like Captain Amarinder Singh to add tea and sugar with the atta dal scheme.

Sulhani however, made it clear that there will be no compromise so far as the policies for the welfare and uplifting of dalits are concerned.

In the present scenario, when DKD has alliance with Suchha Singh Chotepur’s APP, will take care of youths of Punjab, he added.

DKD will take those also in upper class who are economically weaker, added Sulhani.

Sulhani said, this time we will see that the candidates selections will be made who could have better presentation in the Assembly after winning the elections.

On asking about the DKD not on the list of Election Commission of India despite its registration on June 24, 2008, Sulhani said, we have got the confirmation now and eligible for contesting the coming elections.

Giving a warning to the government, Sulhani said, the atrocities on the dalits should be stopped and anti-dalit elements should be checked and booked.

Dhaliwal  confirmed that we did not contest in 2012 Assembly elections as well General elections in 2014. This will be the first time when we will fight elections as now we think we have made a ground for contesting elections. Only our National President contested Hisar by-election.

Present among others on this occasion were Thana Singh Secretary, Rajasthan, Prem Bharti, General Secretary Punjabn, Gurcharan Singh Bajidpur, President District Ferozepur, Dada Nant, Disrrict President, Ferozepur Urban, Beant Singh Sema, President District Bhatinda, Sanket Bhandari, State Youth Wing President, Harjinder Singh Harry, General Secretary, Jajj Sahota General Secretary Youth Wing, Punjab and in good number of supporters.
