Curfew imposed in Ferozepur from 1pm today to 6 pm on August 28

Ferozepur, August 28, 2017 :  The curfew in Ferozepur District was reimposed from from 1pm today to 6 pm on August 29 as a preventive measure after the announcement of verdict by the CBI court, Panchkula  in the rape against Dera Sacha Sauda Chief, said Ramvir Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur in a press conference with the media persons today morning.

Conveying his thanks to the citizens of the district for maintain peace and law and order, District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Ramvir once again appealed to them to extend cooperation to the civil and police administration during the curfew period so there is no loss to the government and non-government property.

 

Addressing the media persons, he said, simultaneously, honouring the verdict of the court by all, no one should indulge in to any activity which may hurt the sentiments of particular community.

 

He confirmed of making of the adequate arrangements for the security in the event of any untoward situation arising during the curfew period.  He however, said that in the event of getting any information of controversy, an intimation to the police control room over telephone No.01632-244100 or Control Room in the DAC complex may be given over No.01632-244024 so that the same is failed to acknowledge on the spot.

 

Deputy Commissioner said, the position will be reviewed in the evening with regard to lifting or continuance of curfew depending upon the circumstances.

 

On question about the taking over of Naam Charcha houses of Dera Sacha Sauda said, only the properties have been attached of all the six Deras amounting to Rs.1.04 crore and report to this effect has been sent to the Addi.Chief Secretary as per orders of the High Court besides putting up a notice on the gates for banning its sale.

 

In reply to the question, SSP Gaurav Garg confirmed the detention of certain persons, not delinquent, as preventive measures to avoid any violent activities.
