COVID-19 spike, 3 micro containment zone declared in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, April 23, 2021:  With reporting of 229 fresh Covid-19 cases in Ferozepur district, the total active cases tally has reached 848 and three areas have been declared as micro containment zones.

As per the details, 1,24,325 samples were taken since the outbreak of coronavirus in this part, against 1,1,667 have been tested negative, 6,851 as positive, while 5,805 have recovered leaving the active cases to 848 and still result of 605 samples, is awaited.

However, three areas where the Corona positive cases have been found on the higher side, have been declared as micro containment zones which are Rikhi Colony in Ferozepur City Model Town and Saido Ke Naul of Mamdot Block where six positive cases in each zone has been detected.

There had also been 198 deaths so far in the Ferozepur district due to Corona positive.  In all, 57,578 persons of 45 plus age have been given the first and second dose of Covid vaccine including the frontline and health workers.

In the meantime, the movement restrictions have been put in the micro containment ones besides strict observation of night curfew.

The civil administration and police are also up in arms to ensure that there is no movement during the curfew period and in the morning creating awareness among the people by arranging distribution of masks and registration of cases, for violation of Covid guidelines.

SSP Bhagirath Singh Meena has also asked the shopkeepers not to allow anyone in the shop without a mask and don’t sell any item to the person who is not wearing the mask.  He also made it clear that in case any shopkeeper is found violating the Covid instructions, strict action will be taken against him.  He made it clear, our aim is not to harass the public rather to keep them aware of the impact of Covid infection.  Seven persons have also been booked under 188 IPC in violation of the night curfew.
