Counter Intelligence busts smuggling network running at Central Jail, inmate’s wife held for  Rs.1.13 cr transaction in accounts

Ferozepur, October 8, 2023:  Acting upon the directions of Sh. RN Dhoke, IPS. Special DGP Internal Security Punjab, Amit Prasad, IPS. ADGP Counter Intelligence Punjab a special drive has been conducted against drugs. During this, under the leadership         Lakhbir Singh, PPS, AIG Counter Intelligence Ferozepur and Inspector Baldev Singh Patli, Incharge CI Unit Ferozepur, the Counter Intelligence has succeeded in busting the smuggling network running at Central Jail Ferozepur.

 

On March 28, 2023, Counter Intelligence Ferozepur Police Party received secret information that Sonu Tiddi s/o Mahesh Singh r/o Prem Nagar, Block No. 626, Near Convent School, Ferozepur Cantonment, Amrik Singh s/o Jarnail Singh r/o Palla Megha, PS Sadar Ferozepur, District Ferozepur and Raj Kumar alias Raja S/o Fakir Chand r/o Raj Ghat Road, Fish Mandi, City Ferozepur District Ferozepur, who are lodged in Central Jail Ferozepur under various cases registered under NDPS Act and the said accused are running drug racket in the jail and send the drug money earned from drug smuggling in the jail, to their acquaintances and relatives through UPI system using mobile phone internet and  who further transferred this drug money to the different bank account of Raj Kumar’s wife Neeru Bala and Sonu Tiddi’s wife Geetanjali. Due to which FIR No. 10, dated 28-03-2023 Section 15,18,21,22,27-A.29/61/85 NDPS Act PS SSOC Fazilka, District Fazilka has been registered against said accused.

During the investigation of the said case, it has been found that a total transaction of Rs 1,13,54,988/- has been made in Neeru Bala’s different bank accounts through different apps UPI. Due to which the said Neeru Bala was arrested on October 2, 2023 and on his confession during police remand, one Vivo Y75 mobile has been recovered from her home which was being used for UPI transactions on October 6. After the end of police remand, Neeru Bala has been sent to Central Jail Ferozepur.

Apart from this, on October 5,  the accused Sonu Tiddi and Amrik Singh were taken on production warrant by Counter Intelligence Ferozepur.  During the interrogation, the confession made by Sonu Tiddi was shared with the jail administration based on this confession of the accused Sonu Tiddi the Jail administration recovered one keypad mobile phone along with sim and battery on October 6, from Barrack No. 08 of Central Jail Ferozepur.The jail administration has already written to PS City Ferozepur, District Ferozepur for registration of an FIR. After being produced in the Court, the said Sonu Tiddi and Amrik Singh were sent to central jail Ferozepur on  October 7.

During the Police remand of said accused, the name of drug  suppliers and the smuggler who received drug money through UPI transactions from Neeru Bala have been revealed. These smugglers have been nominated in this case, for which raids are being conducted at different places. The investigation of the said case is going on.
