Consumer Forum slaps fine of Rs.5000 on Driver & Conductor PUNBUS for dropping at Ferozepur Cantt Bus Stand instead Ferozepur City Bus Stand

Ferozepur, March 4 (Vikramditya Sharma) : The Consumer Forum Ferozepur has slapped a fine of Rs. 5000 on Punbus Driver and Condcutor for dropping and old man and his accomplice at Ferozepur Cantonment Bus Stand instead of City Bus Stand.

Jaswinder Singh Dhillon (60), a resident of Ferozepur City said that he had boarded a bus from Muktsar to Ferozepur last month along with along with his friend Hardev Singh, another resident of Ferozepur City. The conductor had given them the ticket for Ferozepur City Bus Stand. However, when they reached to the Ferozepur Cantonment Bus Stand, the driver and conductor, both told all the passengers to evacuate the bus by saying that the bus does not have enough fuel to go to city bus stand. Jaswinder Singh, argued with the conductor and in retaliation the conductor and driver, used filthy language.

Later a complaint was lodged by Jaswinder Singh Dhillon in the consumer forum. Acting upon the evidences available (unavailability of Adda fee slip), the forum penalized the erring Bus Driver and Conductor Rs. 5000/- as consolidated compensation for harassment and litigation expenses.
it is pertinent to mention here that General Manager, Punjab Roadway, Ferozepur has already issued directions to all the Drivers and Conductors of the buses coming from outside routes to Ferozepur not to enter the buses in Bus Stand Ferozepur Cantt and to drop the passengers at ‘Lightan Wala Chowk’ at  Cantt and then to bring the buses to Bus Stand Ferozepur City via Sher Shah Wali Chowk, Railway Bridge, Malwa Chowk and Namdev Chowk.
