Congress Rural workers burn effigy of ‘White Ravana’ with faces of Badal & Co.
Ferozepur, October 17, 2016: Regardless of clashes sparked between Congress and Akali Dal injuring the workers, the White Ravana effigy continued to burn as protest against sale of heroin in Punjab.
On a call fr4om Congress President, Capt Amarinder Singh, the effigies of White Ravana with faces of Badal & Co were burnt by the Ferozepur Rural Congress workers led by Pritam Singh Sandhu, Senior Congress leader accompanied by Satkar Kaur Gehri, Rural Incharge, Jasmel Singh Ladi Gehri, Baldev Singh Bittu, Gurbaksh Singh Bhawra, Sukhjit Singh Badhni, Jagjit Singh Dhira Patra, Simran Kamboj, Harsimran Bawa and others were present.
Talking to media persons, Pritam Singh Sandhu said, the police is planning to stop the burning of effigies of While Ravana in the state and there are possibilities of arrests also.
He said, Modi should know of supporting the criminal based party and it is the way of showing the resentment and apprise about the state of affairs of Punjab in the grip of drug. People are well aware of the atrocities on them during the last ten years tenure of Badals and fed up from them.
He claimed that during 2017 elections, the party will have historical victory.
On the other hand, the Akali leaders have said that attempt to malign the image of the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister will not be tolerated by the party men and strong action will be taken to foil the plan of anti-social elements of Congress.
