Congress leaders condemn arrest of Kulbir Singh Zira former MLA
Ferozepur, October 17, 2023: After the arrest of former Congress MLA Kulbir Singh Zira from his resident today morning, in a case registered against him along with 70-80 unidentified persons for allegedly obstructing work of government officials on duty and tampering with government record, the senior Congress leaders – MP Member Parliament from Zira Jasbir Singh Dhimpa and Parminder Singh Pinki, former Congress MLA, condemned by holding a press conference Congress Bhawan, at Ferozepur.
A large number of Congress leaders and workers were present on this occasion in support of Kulbir Singh Zira.
Dimpa said Kulbir Singh Zira has been arrested wrongly by the police and in fact, the police want to suppress the Congress. He said that the Punjab government is not paying attention to many other issues of Punjab. The government should focus on the burning and serious issues like SYL and damaged law and order in the state, by keeping aside the conflict with each other.
Condemning of taking Kulbir Singh Zira from Zira to Ferozepur for medical in the Civil Hospital and then at a distant place, as if he is a terrorist. The Punjab government has always tried to suppress the Congress leaders whenever they have raised voice against the working of the AAP in the state. He said, the government is only focussing on revenge policy by arresting the leaders and adding he said, shortly we will have a meeting and come up with a protest strategy.
