Civil & Police officials reviewed poll preparedness arrangements for Assembly Elections 2017
Ferozepur, August 26, 2016: To review the advance poll preparedness arrangements
for Assembly Elections 2017, a meeting was held between Civil and Police officials under the chairmanship of Er.DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer to pass on the instructions as per the directions of the Election Commissioner of India.
DEO-cum-DC, Er.Kharbanda said, the youths between 18-19 years should be encouraged extensively for enrolling as voter and they should be put wiser about the importance of right to franchise vote during the elections by organizing continuous campaign at school, colleges and other education institutions.
He said, on the basis of eligibility on attaining the age of 18 years as on 1.1.2017m each one should be encouraged to enroll as voter between September 7 to October 7 under the amended voters list programme.
He further said, the claims and objections will also be invited by all the EROs in forms No.6, 7, 8 and 8 A from September 7, 2016 to October 7, 2016 and take action for deletion and addition of votes. For deletion of votes, a proper seven days’ notice may be given and it should be deleted only after completing all the formalities.
He also said, a special camp by BLOs at the polling stations will also organized on September 11 and September 25, 2016 as per directions of ECI.
He said, first of all, all the polling stations should be inspected with regard to making all required arrangements especially the ramps for the physically challenged persons. He also directed to make arrangements for postal ballots and also ear mark the sensitive polling stations to apprise the ECI.
