Chug off Ferozepur-Chandigarh train – It’s Credit War now

HANDBILL BY KAMAL SHARMAFerozepur, February 9 :  The credit war among the political parties – BJP and Congress have started with the announcement of chugging off the Ferozepur-Chandigarh training regularly from February 11.

The Ferozepur-Chandigarh train which started its maiden journey on March 10,2014 was discontinued and with the fresh orders, the train will run by remote system from Delhi  on February 9 & 10.

Putting up big hoardings in the city and issuing of handbills by both the parties speak of their intentions.  On the other hand certain NGOs, who too had been agitating, are also claiming their contribution in this project.  However, the restarting of train has brought cheers to the citizens of the area.

According to Kamal Sharma, Punjab BJP President, he has taken up the issue with the Railway Minister number of times and final outcome is because of his personal efforts.

While Parminder Singh Pinki, Congress MLA is claiming that the project was sanctioned during the UPA-II regime and the credit should go to the Congress.

It is pertinent to mention that there had been a month long agitation by youth congress led by Gurbhej Tibbi including PPP, AAP, BKU(Ugraha), Students Unions, NGOs for early resumption of this train.  Even once Partap Singh Bajwa, Congress President, Punjab had addressed the agitators.

According to railways, GM on his last visit had made it clear that whatever projects have been cleared in 2014 including Ferozepur-Chandigarh train, would be completed during the current financial year.

The credit war will end with the commissioning of this train when the railways have invited all important political leaders.
