CASSs Union staged protest against anti-policies of government
Ferozepur, July 9, 2021: On a state call, the Punjab State Cooperative Agriculture Service Employees Union, on Friday staged protest in front of the Markfed DM office against the wrong policies of Punjab government and Markfed.
Speaking on the occasion, Bakhshish Singh Sidhu, District President said the Markfed is supplying its products without our consent and indent putting unnecessary burden on the CASSs besides irregular supplies of fertilizers besides charging high rates than Iffco and for Markfed products also.
On the other hand, Sachin Kumar, District Manager, Markfed speaking to media persons said, Markfed is farmer-friendly organizations. All supplies to the Agri Service Societies are made strictly as per their demand. He said out of 141 CASS only 30-35 are working for sale of Markfed products like cattle feed and other products. So far financial burden on CASS is concerned, the cattle feed is given on 45 days credit which is retuned in 50 to 60 days. Moreover on late recovery, no interest is charged. So far as fertilizer supply is concerned, around Rs.18 crore fertilizer has been to CASSs and around Rs.16 crore recovery is still ending which has to be recovered as per RCS policy by 30.6.2021 and it is a burden on Markfed. So far as fertilizer supplies are concerned, so far 100 per cent DAP an 61 per Urea supplies have been made to the CASS and the remaining Urea supplies will be made within 10-15 days.
