BSF,Police in joint opt, seize 29.26 kg heroin in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, August 21, 2023: On the intervening night of 20th / 21st Aug’ 2023, on specific information, a Joint Operation was conducted by BSF and Punjab Police (CI Ferozepur) on the bank of river Sutlej near Village – Gatti Matar, Distt – Ferozepur.
Further, during operation at about 0245 AM, troops observed movement of some Pak miscreants / smugglers coming from Pakistan to India side. Troops initially challenged them. On their reaction, sensing imminent threat and to stop further misadventure, troops fired upon the miscreants / smugglers. Resultantly, 01 smuggler got hit on his hand. Subsequently, troops apprehended 02 Pak smugglers alongwith 26 packets of narcotics suspected to be Heroin (Net wt – appx 29.26 Kg). After first aid, the injured smuggler was referred to Civil hospital. Search operation still going on.
Yet another nefarious attempt of smugglers foiled by the joint efforts of BSF & Punjab Police.
