BSF seizes FICN, Pistol, Magzine, Ammunition, Pak SIM in BOP Noorwala Ex-87Bn BSF Sector Ferozepur

Ferozepur, December 13, 2015:    Border Security Force personnel have successfully seized FICN Rs 5,97,500/-, PISTOL-01, MAG-02, AMN-10, PAK SIM-01on Punjab Border on12^th  December’ 2015 in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Noorwala, Ex- 87Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur.

2. Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border due to ongoing harvesting season, Shri Anil Paliwal, IPS, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the menace of narcotics smuggling and activities of Anti National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan. Accordingly, Shri R K Thapa, DIG, SHQ BSF Ferozepur directed Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the attempts of smugglers/Anti- National Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers during this harvesting season.
3. Based on information about smuggling through International Border, on 12^th December 2015, a Special Search Operation was carried out by BSF troops ahead of Border Security Fence in the area of responsibility of Border out Post Noorwala, Ex- 87 Bn BSF, and Sector Ferozepur. At about 121650hrs, during search of the area, the BSF search party recovered FICN Rs 5, 97,500/-, PISTOL-01, MAG-02, AMN-10, PAK SIM-01.
4. The enhanced vigil of BSF troops has once again thwarted the attempt of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements to smuggle contraband items into India.
