BSF seizes 8 packets of heroin, opium and Pak SIM near Indo-Pak border
Ferozepur, May 6, 2018: On 06 May 2018, based on information provided by STF Amritsar, Border Security Force troops successfully seized 08 packets (approx. – 5.315 Kgs) of contraband suspected to be heroin along with 01 Pak SIM Card (Zong 4G) and opium – 45 Gms in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post D T Mal, Ex-29 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur.
Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border and heightened activities of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements on the border, Sh. Mukul Goel, IPS, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the activities of Anti – National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan. Accordingly, Deputy Inspector General, Sector BSF Ferozepur directed Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on the border to thwart the attempts of Anti- National Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers/ Anti-National Elements. 3
On 06 May 2018, on information of STF Amritsar a special search operation was carried out by troops of Border Security Force in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post D T Mal, Ex-29 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur. During search at about 1130 hrs, search party recovered 08 packets (approx. – 5.315 Kgs) of contraband suspected to be heroin along with 01 Pak SIM Card (Zong 4G) and Opium – 45 Gms which were buried under soil near a tube well in the field between International Boundary and Border Security Fence.
Vigilant troops of BSF once again thwarted the attempt of Anti-National Elements to push the consignment of Arms/Amn into India.
During the year 2018, BSF has affected under mentioned seizures on Punjab Border:- Heroin : 116.74 Kg (including today’s seizure of 5.315 Kgs) Opium : 335 Gms (including today’s seizure of 45 Gms) Indian border crosser apprehended : 34 Indian smugglers apprehended : 04 PAK SIM Cards : 18 Nos. (including today’s seizure of 01 Pak Sim Card) Pak smugglers interdicted : 02 Pak smuggler apprehended : 04 Weapons (Different Types) : 13 Magazine : 21 Ammunition (Various Calibers) : 378 Pak Mobile : 06 Hand Grenade : 06 Nos Pak Currency : Rs.2350, said Chief PRO, BSF Punjab Frontier.
