BSF and SSOC in joint operation seize heroin, Pak SIM
Ferozepur, February 9, 2018: In a joint search operation, troops of Border Security Force and State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), successfully seized 04 Packets (@ 500 Gms per pkt, Total Wt approx. 02 Kgs) of contraband suspected to be heroin along with 01 Pak SIM Card in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Dona Raja Deena Nath, Ex-118 Bn BSF, Sector Abohar.
Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border, setting of Fog / Smog and heightened activities of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements on border, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the activities of Anti – National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan. Accordingly, Deputy Inspector General, Sector BSF Abohar directed Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the attempts of Anti- National Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers/ Anti-National Elements.
On 08 Feb 2018, based on specific information, a special joint search operation was carried out By Border Security Force and State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Ferozepur in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Dona Raja Deena Nath, Ex-118 Bn BSF, Sector Abohar. During search at about 1545 hrs, BSF troops recovered 04 Packets (@ 500 Gms per pkt, Total Wt approx. 02 Kgs) of contraband suspected to be heroin and 01 Pak SIM Card buried in soil ahead of Border Security Fence.
The enhanced vigil of BSF has once again thwarted the attempt of Anti-National Elements to push the consignment of Arms/Amn into India. During the year 2018, BSF has affected under mentioned seizures on Punjab Border:- Heroin : 34.715 Kgs (including today’s seizure of 02 Kgs) Indian border crosser apprehended : 16 PAK SIM Cards : 05 Nos. (including today’s seizure 01 Pak SIM card) Indian Mobile : 07 Nos. Indian SIM Cards : 08 Nos. Pak intruder interdicted 01 Weapons (Different Types) : 06 Magazine : 09 Ammunition (Various Calibers) : 256 Pak Mobile : 01 Hand Grenade : 06
