Bhagat Singh’s kin upsets for not naming Chandigarh International Airport after Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh

Ferozepur, September 13, 2015: Shaheed Bhagat Singh Brigade led by Yadvinder Singh (Grandson of Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh) today on his visit to Ferozepur – the land of martyrs;- showed resentment for not naming the new airport terminal in Chandigarh after freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.
Despite the passing a resolution to name the new airport as Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh International Airport Mohali-Chandigarh even as Prime Minisger Narendera Modi inaugurated the international terminal on Saturday.
Yadwinder Singh – great grandson of legendary martyr Bhagat Singh and younger brother Kulbir Singh – and his companions of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Brigade were looking like Bhagat Singh by wearing saffron turbans and twisting their moustaches. They visited Hussainiwala Memorial and collected sacred clay “(Paawan Maati) from there.

‘Jaagriti Yatra started today from Hussainiwala will which will go to Bhiwani on 14th September via Muktsar-Malout-Dabwali-Sirsa-Hisar. The clay which we have colletected will be used for huge statue of Bhagat Singh in Bhiwani which is proposed to be installed at Bhiwani, he added.
Yadwinder Singh Sandhu, Smt.Sandhu Kaur and members of Bhagat Singh Brigade said, when the country is centenary celebrations of Bhagat Singh and it is not understood as to who is opposing for naming the international airport after Bhagat Singh.
They also demanded for putting up photographs of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukdev, B.K. Dutt, Shaheed Udham Singh, Chander Shekhar Azad and Luxmi Bai etc. They also put a demand before the government to prepare an official comprehensive list of martyrs who have sacrificed for the freedom of India.
Yadwinder Singh pointed out that whatever Britishers have drafted still exists in our history and even Shaheed Bhagat Singh is still being referred as ‘terrorist’.
He also expressed his displeasures over the procedural formalities in finalizing the heritage status to the historical building know as the ‘hide-out’ place of Bhagat Singh and his companions, in Turi Bazar Ferozepur City.
