Ferozepur, September 3, 2016:  The book titled “History of Ghadar Party” by Rakesh Kumar, Senior Section Engineer in Northern Railway – running into 350 pages, published by Sangam Publications – was released today over a simple and impressive function over the gathering of local old timers and media persons.

Later on speaking to the media persons, after the releasing ceremony, Rakesh Kumar said, the book in your hands is the outcome my seven years’ research work and this is my 9th book, barring two books on railway management, the remaining seven books relate to revolutionary movements in India on Shaheed Udham Singh, Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

Rakesh Kumar has got distinction of conferring various awards to his credit including the two highest awards from Railways and Baba Farid Society.

Ghadar – which was a hand written paper in those days included the write-ups, patriotic poetry in the common speaking language, was close to the common man and  helped in motivating the people to participate in the freedom movement of India.  It was not only a literature but a spark of mutiny.

He said, “In 1913, a growing number of migrants from India to Canada and the US formed the the Ghadar Party in San Francisco, designed to organize an army to overthrow British colonial rule in India. This organization organized thousands of primarily Punjabis and Sikhs to return to India with the purpose of launching armed revolts and mutinies among Indian soldiers in the British colonial army which sparked the struggle of millions during the first half of the 20th Century.

He said, the noted revolutionary, Bhagat Singh, was himself motivated strongly by the Ghadar Party’s revolutionary struggles.  Eventually, much of the party was crushed and its members hanged and the remainder split into Communist and anti-Communist sections.

Professor Dr.Joginder Jodha speaking about his first hand commentary said, it will start a new chapter of discussions on Ghadar literature at the global level. Ghadar movement subject needs a detailed discussion as some time back, with the coming in power in Parliament, of well decorated forces, at the centre, the working drills has started moving fast on the history of India. The existing book of Rakesh Kumar, is the outcome of the need of logical discussions. The history of Ghadar movement and the book seeking as filler of the literature, will prove a work of an documented importance.

An old timer M.L.Tiwari, Journalist, It takes time to motivate the new generation and in case every youth come forward with the same spirit, the renewal of Ghadar movement in different perspective would help to eradicate poverty, corruption and unemployment.

Present among others on this occasion were – Prof.Jaspal Ghai, Prof.Gurtej Koharwala, Principal Preetinder Singh and prominent local citizens.
