DC ADDRESSING EDUCATION CONFERENCE AT FZR

Ferozepur, September 24, 2015: The Action Group for Research in Education and Environment – AGREED Foundation – committed for the development of education and environment, today organized National Level Education Conference at local Dev College of Education.

While many nations around the world have embraced the need for education to achieve sustainability, India even after its 68 years of independence, the quality of education has hit low on the whole barring a few handful exceptions and compelling to serious think it over by holding education conferences before finalizing the National Education Policy 2015.

Er.DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur was the Chief Guest of the function and Baljit Kaur, Circle Education Officer presided over the Conference.  Among others present were Jagsir Singh DEO, Ferozepur, Dr.Sukhbir Singh Ball, DEO (Sec.) Fazilka, Prof. Dr.R.R.Keorang, National Council of Education and Research Training, New Delhi, Amrik Singh, DPRO as special invitees and educationists, principals, teachers and in good number of students.

Dr.Satinder Singh, National Awardee and Balwinder Kaur Cheema, Principal highlighting the aims and objects of the conference said, the purpose of holding this conference is to have a health discussions on new education policy 2015 and to share valuable suggestions for taking decision in the right perspective.

Er.DPS Kharbanda, in his keynote address appreciating the initiative of AGREED Foundation said, the education policy of any nation, provides foundational strength to economic, social and education framework of that nation. He made a special reference of moral education and employment based education in our education system.

Talking about the teachers as makers of the society, views were expressed on the problems being faced in our existing education system are like teachers training, school education and higher education coordination, problems of teachers and students – its remedies and on the importance of relative activities.

Baljit Kaur, CEO, Jagsir Singh,DEO in their address said, by making a special reference of the initiative of the Punjab Government to raise the education standard, “It is necessary to have valuable contribution of expert teachers, students and social service organizations for consideration to develop strategies, plan and strengthen the new education policy 2015, at the time of its finalization.”

Recitation of Punjabi poem by Renowned Punjabi poet, Anil Aadim, on the present circumstances, raised number of questions and compelled to think it over seriously.
