BKU accuses revenue officials for land use change under political pressure

Ferozepur, November 28, 2017:  Bharti Kissan Union Ekta (Sidhupur) Ferozepur Unit led by Punjab President Jagjit Singh Dhallewala, today protested for transferring of 25 acres of land at Jhoke Hari Har, in the name of relatives of Congress leader and others, by the revenue officials under political pressure already being cultivated by the farmers since long.

 

Addressing the protesters, District President Fateh Singh Kot Karor said, around 25 acres of disputec land of a temple is in the possession of Malkit Singh Foji, Balvir Singh, Gurjit Singh, Dvinder Singh, Darbara Singh and others is in possession of these farmers and event girdawri was also in their names.   

 

Bohar Singh Rupiyawala, District President Faridkot, Tor Singh Dhillon General Secretary, Sadiq, Charanjit Singh Block President Faridkot, Gurbachana, Gurmit Singh and others also addressed the gathering.

 

He alleged that the girdawri was illegally transferred under political pressure, in the name of relatives of Congress leader and others by Naib Tehsildar Narinder Kumar.

  

On the other hand, despite giving assurance to the farmers for justice by the  SDM Harjit Singh Sandhu by setting right the girdawri issue,  passed the order of Section 145 banning them to sow the wheat crop.  

 

Section 145 states that whenever an Executive Magistrate is satisfied from a report of a police officer or upon other information that a dispute likely to cause a breach of the peace exists concerning any land or water or the boundaries thereof, within his local jurisdiction, 

 

 

It is pertinent to mention here that during the two investigations by the senior officers, the possession of farmers was established.

 

The  BKU leaders demand as to under what circumstances to get the girdawri changed in the name of farmers without any political pressure and restraining the relatives of political of taking possession of the land.

 

BKU Punjab President Jagjit Singh Dhalewal also appealed to the administration to allow the farmers to sow the wheat crop on this land.  He also warned that in case it is not done, the state level protest will be organized.

 

Number of farmers and representatives of farmers unions were present on this account to support the farmers of Jhoke Hari Har.
