Ferozepur, April 3, 2016: The situation became tense after the release of Bhai Dhian Singh Mand – who was appointed as acting Jathedar of Akal Takhat Sahib by the organizers of the Sarbat Khalsa 2015 – after his re-arrest by the Punjab Police on April 2, in another case of Sedition – conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state – at Harike Pattan while jamming the traffic.
Added here, Bhai Baljit Singh Dhaliwal, who was appointed as Jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib by organizers of the Sarbat Khalsa 2015 and SAD(Mann) President Simranjeet Singh Mann who were present outside the Jail had criticized the Badal Government for using repressive tactics against Sarbat Khalsa appointed leaders. It was also reported in the news that activists of SAD(Mann) raised slogans of Khalistan on the release of Bhai Dhian Singh Mand.
When Dhyan Singh Mand was brought to Ferozepur jail after his re-arrest where he was not taken into custody by the jail officials. In the meantime, the Mand supporters shouted slogans against the Punjab Government and Khalistan Zindabad. However, after an hour, the Makhu police took him back to Maximum Security Naba Jail, said to be due to security reasons
Levelling charges against the Badal Govt., Mand said to the media persons that he has got the bail from the High Court in the case of treason whereas he has been falsely implicated in the sedition case at Harike Pattan on the hint from Badal government despite the fact that he was not present there. He further said that the Badal Government wants to suppress his voice but the Sikh Sangat will give a suitable reply in the coming Pujab Vidhan Sabha elections. The government don’t want that they may be exposed of their high handedness and wrong deeds before the people of Pujab. But he is not likely to sit silent and he being a true sepoy of Sikh sangat, would fight for his community till his last lungful of air.
The next date of hearing in his case is fixed for April 12, 2016.
Present among those on this occasion were senior leader Gurcharan Singh Bhullar Pahadion Wale, Harbhajan Singh, Jagdish Singh, Jatinder Singh, Surat Singh, Charan Singh and others.
