Assault on Advocate : Bar Association to protest if no action by police

Ferozepur, July 23, 2017 :  Giving a warning to the police to take action against those assaulted Advocate Pankaj Sharma, the lawyers community would be compelled to intensify the protest.

As per the information, Pankaj Sharma, senior advocate at district courts, Ferozepur was attacked and seriously injured, by two car-borne youths near DCM chowk in Ferozepur Cantt.

Condemning the incident in strong words, Shivdeep Singh Sandhu, President, District Boar Association, Ferozepur, Arshdeep Singh Randhawa, Secretary and former President, Jasdeep Kamboj said, the attack on the advocate is very unfortunate due to weak police administration, which will not be tolerated by the lawyers’ fraternity.

Bar members further said, in most of the cases, the criminals keep the revengeful attitudes with the advocates who fight to get justice to their clients and it is the responsibility of the police to provide secured atmosphere to the advocates.

The Bar Association members have demanded from the SSP Ferozepur to take strict action against the attackers on Pankaj Sharma advocate.

According to Shivdeep Singh Sandhu, President, the SSP has directed the Cantt to take immediate action in this case.
