Properties made through illegal means through sale of drugs in 10 cases worth Rs.6,27,05,693 Cr seized in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, October 7, 2023: The Ferozepur police is up in arms in anti-drug drive in the district and following directions by the top brass to district police chiefs to identify and seize properties made through illegal means by sale of drugs, the Ferozepur police have seized another property worth Rs.22 lac under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act 1985 and action take after due approvals from the competent authorities. In all the ten cases, the total illegal properties worth Rs.6,27,05,693 have been freezed during the current year, after getting proper orders from the competent authority. The frozen properties include the smugglers’ residential houses, agricultural land, commercial plots and cars.
Deepak Hillori, SSP Ferozepour said, under directions of the Punjab government of DGP Punjab, we have adopted a multi-pronged strategy, by constituting the special teams under the tutelage of SP(D) Randhir Kumar and gazetted officers (GOs) to apprehend drug smugglers and confiscate their properties acquired through the sale of illicit contraband under Section 68 of the NDPS Act.
He further said, a case under Sections 22, 61, 85 of NDPS Act, a case was registered against Arshdeep Kumar on recovery of 2,500 habit forming drug tablets, who is presently on bail and he has made property worth Rs.22 lac by way of illegal means under NDPS Act. A notice of freezing order was pasted outside his house.
The cases for 14 more drug smugglers have been forwarded to the Competent Authority, for getting freezing orders and taking action under anti-drug drive, the action is being taken to attach the property of 15 more drug smugglers.
He further said, during the current year, in such 9 cases, the total illegal properties worth Rs.6,05,05,693 have been freezed and now the concerned drug smugglers cannot sell or transfer this illegal property to anyone.
He said in all the ten cases, the property worth Rs.6,27,05,693 has been freezed after orders of the competent authority. The drug smugglers now cannot sell or transfer this property to anyone. Another 13 cases have been sent for freezing of proper to the Competent Authority at Delhi besides we are working on another 15 such cases, which too will be sent for appropriate orders by the concerned authority.
