American India Foundation Trust organizes “Teacher Changemaker Event”
Ferozepur, December 11, 2016: The American India Foundation is committed to catalyzing social and economic change in India and building a lasting bridge between the United States and India through high-impact interventions in education, livelihoods, public health, and leadership development with a particular emphasis on empowering girls and women to achieve gender equity. AIF is associated with Department of School Education, Punjab since 2005 and implementing its signature program – Digital Equalizer. Under the DE program teachers and students are provided training on integrating technology, pedagogy, project based learning and financial literacy. AIF also motivates teachers, students and community to organize activities related to cleanliness.
From time to time, American India Foundation recognizes the teachers who implements the innovative teaching methodologies taught under the DE program in an effective way. Today one day teacher changemaker event was organized in Malwa Khasla Senior secondary school Ludhiana to recognize these teacher. More than 200 teachers participated in the event from Punjab and Haryana. District Edusat coordinator Jasvir Singh, District ICT coordinator Rajwant Singh, District Admin officer Anil Sudhir, Associate Director (STIR) Mr. Suman Das Gupta and Operation Director Mrs. Mrinalika Dhapola jointly inaugurate the function by lighting the lamp.
At this moment, Mr. Suman Das Gupta expressed that this initiative is a collaborative effort by AIF and STIR to recognize teachers efforts and innovations to improve learning outcomes and classroom environment.
In the workshop, various teachers Mr. J.P Singh (Math Master-Mohali), Shri Abhinav Joshi( Science Master-Patiala), Shri Ajay Bharadwaj( Math Master Jalandhar), Smt. Jagriti Kaur (SS Mistress-Patiala), Smt. Meenakshi Verma (Hindi Mistress-Patiala), Smt. Irwandeep Kaur ( SS mistress Patiala),Mr. Jatinder Sharma (Maths – Jatwar), Mr. Raj Kumar (Lec. Economics-Panchkula) & Gurjant Singh (SS master- Mansa) shared their innovations and impact on students learning outcomes. Teachers appreciated the effort done by AIF to support teachers in implementing the innovative ideas and giving a platform to showcase them.
After that, participating teachers were rewarded with certificates. After the award ceremony, Shri Anil Sudhir appreciated the effort done by AIF to motivate teachers to implement micro innovations and providing a platform to showcase them. At the end, Mrs. Mrinalika Dhapola thank all the district officials and teachers for support in organizing the event. She added that teachers are nation builders and AIF & STIR will continue their support to them.
