Alpha Mind Chess Academy organized Chess Tournament at Vivekananda World School

Ferozepur, November 21, 2020: On Saturday, Chess tournament at Vivekananda World School was organized in collaboration with Alpha Mind Chess Academy.

Giving detailed information related to the above, Vipan Kumar Sharma, Vice Principal (Admin), Vivekananda World School, said that chess plays an important role in increasing concentration of mind and intensity of intelligence. Playing it, therefore, develops imagination, which not only enhances the ability to think about the future, but also has a good grasp on mathematics and science subjects.

Keeping these things in mind, a chess tournament was organized today at Vivekananda World School in collaboration with Alpha Mind Chess Academy. The Chief Guest of this tournament was Varinder Singhal, Guest of Honor Dr. S. R. Rudra, Director, Vivekananda World School and Special Guest  Amrik Singh, DPRO, Ferozepur and Faridkot.

The guests of the event inspired the participants to keep the body fit, one needs to take up exercise and sports. But exercise is also needed to keep the mind fit. Brain exercises increase the efficiency of the brain and the chess game plays an important role in it.

This was followed by a prize distribution ceremony, in which Under-14 category first prize winner was Tanush,2nd position  was awarded to Hetarth Dhingra and third prize was awarded to Piyush Bhola. Under 21 first prize was awarded to Manav Chawla, second prize was Awarded to Jasmeet Singh and third prize Abhishek Bhargava . In Open category Lavish Verma secured first position while Second position was secured by Arjunveer Singh and third prize was given to Vansh Gupta. Apart from them, Manpreet was awarded in the women category while Samar was awarded as the youngest player.

At the end of the ceremony, Chief Guest  Varinder Singhal, Guest of Honor Dr. S.N.Rudra and Special Guest, Amrik Singh were presented a memento from Vivekananda World School.
