Freedom Fighters Convention in Ferozepur

 

Ferozepur, May 15, 2016: All India Freedom Fighters’ and Successors’ Orgnization (AIFSSO) organized “Freedom Fighters Convention” in Ferozepur at local Manohar Lal Memorial Higher Secondary School, Ferozepur Cantt, to remember the contribution of various freedom fighters for freedom of India.

Added here, India got freedom on 15th August 1947 from the British Empire because of sacrifice of number of  freedom fighters for motherland but the country lost many men and women who were filled with undaunted courage and spirit of patriotism,

Early morning, the freedom fighters paid floral tributes by visiting the Martyrs’ Memorial at Hussainiwala at the Samadhi of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, B.K.Dutt and Raj Mata.

The key-note speakers who shared their views on the role of freedom fighters during the independence movement of India and played major role for freedom of the country were – G.S.Mitra from Bengal, Patil from Karnatka, Ranjit Singh from UP, Rebhe of Maharashtra, Gurcharan Singh Sangha of Punjab, Sarswati Advocate of Rajasthan. Apart from this, the speakers from 13 states including Chattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand states expressed their views.

Giving information, Gurcharan Singh Sangha, State President, Akhil Bhartiya Swantantrata Senani Evm Uttradhikari Sanyukat Sangathan said, Except Punjab, all other states – Utrakhand, MP, Goa, Chennai, Pandichiri, Bihar, HP, Chandigarh, UP – have already implemented the order of the government by extending the facilities to the freedom fighters’ and successors’ like one percent reservation in professional courses, five years’ exemption for joining the government service, 2 per cent reservation to successors of freedom fighters in education and medical institutions etc.

He further said, despite issuing number of reminders to the government in the past three years but despite repeated representations, our demands have not yet been materialized.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, Punjab on May 15, a copy of facilities being extended to the freedom fighters have been attached, the All India Freedom Fighters Association have appealed to consider their demands sympathetically.
