AFTER ONLINE EDUCATION, EDUCATION DEPARTMENT TAKES ONLINE ROUTE TO HOLD COMPETITIONS TO MARK 400TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF GURU TEG BAHADUR

Ferozepur, July 9, 2020:After taking education at the doorsteps of students through the means of mass media, the Education Department, Punjab took another online route to cater to their cultural and spiritual faculties, as the celebration of the 400th Birth Anniversary of Ninth Sikh Guru Teg Bahadur Ji kickstarted across the state with the organisation of Shabad Gayan Competition today. The department has decided to dedicate the whole year in the celebration of the event.
In a series of events to be held under the aegis of Education Department, the education officers of all the districts have been given the task to conduct the online competitions. Dwelling upon the organisation of the event, District Education Officer, Ferozepur Kulwinder Kaur said that the heads of the schools have been informed about the rules and procedure that need to be followed to conduct the occasion. The students are ecstatic and full of zeal to participate in the event which is the first of its kind.
Informing further, she said that after eliciting a huge response for the online education after the clamping of lockdown following the spread of corona virus, the department has decided to give something novel to participate, which they can cherish as a long- term memory. Under the guidance of Education Secretary Krishan Kumar, the department is confident of making the event a success.
Notably, the students have been asked to participate in various activities that include Shabad Gayan, poetry recitation, playing musical instruments, painting, calligraphy, singing, speech, poster making and slogan writing, PPT making and tying turban. The students will have to send their videos to their school heads, who will further send it to the state teams. The teachers are motivating the students and are guiding and training them for various competitions which after being held at the school level, will be further held at the state level. Various committees have been formed to motivate the teachers and students to participate in the event. The committees will also be attending to the technical problems that the participants may face. The teachers, who are helping the students prepare for the competition, will be awarded by the department. Online registration will be done for the participation in the activities.
Various officials of the department namely Sandeep Kamboj District Guidance Counsellor, Deepak Sharma, Media Coordinator, Gurwinder Singh, DM English, Ravi Gupta DM Math, Umesh Kumar DM Science, Rajni Jagga, Anil Dhawan, Sukhwinder Singh, Ashwani Sharma and Sandeep Sehgal have been assigned various duties.
