Ferozepur, August 23, 2022:  The Border Security Force – BSF – have recovered a cache of assault weapons, suspected to have been smuggled from across the border, during a patrol along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

The weapons are suspected to have been smuggled from Pakistan, they said.

As per the information, on August 23, at about 0507 hrs, a flying object blinking of white and red colour light was observed from Pak territory toward India side by forward deployed troops of BOP RAJA MOHTAM on the alignment of BP No 211/5 and subsequently forward troops deployed at HIT No 05 ASI Lal Mani Sharma fire 02 rds on the direction of the flying object from his personal weapon SMG.

In connection with the flying object, a Khura checking party of BOP Jogindar and BOP RAJA MOHTAM, led by SI Surender Kumar along with 04 Ors (including G rep) recovered 2 packages properly wrap in a white plastic gunny bag concealed under dry grass near BP No 212/11  approx 10 meters from IB on own side at 0715 hrs.

It may also be mentioned that the IB track of the Joginder BOP was maintained fresh on August 22 and Khura found on the zero line is fresh and recovered 02 packet

After opening the 2 packages, the articles recovered were -, M-4 Carbine Cal 5.56 MM, M-4 Carbine Cal 5.56 mm, AK Rifle Series – Pak Made Semi-automatic, Special Semi-auto, Pistol- Special Cal 30 Bore pistol, Special Cal 30 Bore pistol.
