Ferozepur, September 24, 2020: Online applications under the Inspire Award-MANAK – Million Minds Augmenting National Aspiration and Knowledge – Scheme for students studying in classes 6 to 10 in all recognized government and private schools in the country have started on the e-MIAS portal and all eligible students should participate in the scheme using lockdown and leisure time.
Deepak Sharma, Coordinator, Inspire Awards from Ferozepur said, to increase interest in students towards science and technology and to link them to this scheme of the Central Government, Rs. 10,000 will be deposited in the bank accounts of all the selected students through DBT. The list of selected students will be made available on the e-MIAS portal login of District Education Officer Secondary. Some of the selected children also travel abroad.
In this scheme 10 thousand ideas will be selected at the district level and 1 thousand ideas at the state level, while one lakh students will be selected across the country. The nationally selected model will be displayed at the enforcement festival held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, which will be awarded by the President. Young scientists who will be selected at the national level will be given cash prizes and selected children will also be given a trip abroad.
Nationalized bank account required for scholarship received in Inspire Award
The student’s account should be in any nationalized bank for scholarship received in Inspire Award and should be active for at least 3 months after applying and selection. It is noteworthy that a significant change has been made on the Inspire Award portal this year. Under this, it is mandatory to update the U-DICE code of the school after applying the school authority option, without the U-DICE update, nomination related work will not be possible on the portal.

In the instructions issued last month, Director SCERT, Punjab directed all the District Education Officers to appoint one teacher in each school for the effective implementation of the Inspire Award Scheme. With this, now enrollment of Three to Five best students from each school in this scheme has been made mandatory.
Last year, the central government increased the incentive amount from 5 thousand rupees to 10 thousand rupees. The purpose of increasing the incentive amount is to increase interest among students in this scheme. Talents will be selected at the state level after the district level. Students whose science models will excel at the state level will get a chance to show talent at the national level stage. Separate incentive amount will also be provided to students if selected for national level.
This program provides a national level platform to talented students with creative thinking.
The Inspire Award is an innovative scheme for innovative encouragement of standard students. In this, the model of the selected participants for the national level is displayed in the national level competition under the technical support and guidance of prestigious institutions like IITs and NTAs.
