How I made my Lockdown period productive…!!!
For many, this lockdown period has given us more time on our hands than we’ve ever had. The time which we never thought we would have.
COVID -19 was news from China early this year but it spread in the world very quickly. We were in mid-March, planning for our new class and soon the lockdown was announced. We had to stay indoors, protecting ourselves and society.
The real challenge was to break the stagnancy and boredom, simultaneously being productive for myself and others. As both my parents are working, during this lockdown, I was able to spend more time with them. My mother cooked a variety of dishes for me. All cuisines were tasty, nutritious and healthy. I tried my hand in cooking as well. I learnt the value of eating healthy yet tasty food. I learnt that we can be happy even without eating out. I helped my mother in the kitchen who showered even more love upon me and we both got our bond even stronger. During this lockdown, I avoided moving outside, breaking the chain by restraining myself in my home. It was difficult for me to stay indoors all day long but my father made it easier for me. My father played chess with me, spending quality time with me. I found a friend in him and we both had a really nice time together.
I had fun times with my brother also. We played online games together and made videos for social media, to aware people regarding Covid-19.
Honourable Education Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla Ji’s new venture #AmbassadorsOfHope was welcomed by all. I also participated in it and received praise from my parents, teachers, peers and society. It was a proud moment for me to be an ambassador of hope.
During this lockdown, my school did not let us feel down. My school had arranged online classes for all of us. We could stay at home, yet talk to our teachers, we could take motivation from them and learn from them. I did my homework on time as well.
One thing I learnt during this lockdown was regarding our environment. I could see cleaner air and greener surroundings. I learnt that if the man could limit his use of vehicles, throwing trashes etc could be a boon for the environment in future as well. There should be a lockdown of a certain period of time every year, to let mother Earth replenish itself.
Thus, this lockdown period was a period of learning, eating healthy food, spending quality time with my parents, playing with my brother and being grateful to mother nature for the cleaner environment.
