Punjab Police join hands with Health Department; organize Dengue-Malaria Awareness Camp
Ferozepur, November 20, 2018: Keeping in view the impact of Dengue fever in the state, the Saanjh Kendras of Punjab Police in the state have been entrusted the job to create awareness among the people about the impact of dengue and malaria fever on human life and preventive measures to avoid its attack.
Under the campaign, an awareness camp was organized by Saanjh Kendra at DAV College for Women in Ferozepur Cantt in association with the local social activists.
Addressing the students, Dr.Yuvraj Narang, District Epidemiologist of Civil Surgeon Office, Ferozepur said, the attack of dengue fever is due to bite of the mosquito which bites in the daytime. The test for dengue is free of cost in the Civil Hospital lab.
Sharing the symptoms, he said, suddenly higher fever, pain on the back portion of eyes and muscles, not feeling well, vomiting, bleeding from nose, mouth and jaws and turning of skin to blue colour are the main warning signs. He said we should wear such clothes which could cover the whole of the body and also use mosquito net and creams and oils on the naked body. In nut-shell, we should keep clean our surroundings.
He also made it clear that in the event of the finding of the larva at any place, the action under the Punjab Municipal Act 1991 Section 211 and 219 could be taken for a find of Rs.500 to Rs.11000.
On this occasion, Paramjeet Kaur, SI Saanjh Kendra, Ferozepur City and Gurbakshis Singh, Inspector Saanjh Kendra, Surjit Singh, SI, also appealed to the people to keep their surroundings neat and clean, to prevent the spread of chronic disease like dengue fever. Balwinder Singh and Harish Kumar NGOs – social activists were also present who delivered the motivational lecture to the students.
