Pinki honours 251 newborn girls on International Women’s Day

Ferozepur, March 8, 2018: Today, on celebrations of International Women’s Day at local Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium, 251 newborn girls were honoured along with their parents were honoured by Parminder Singh Pinki, MLA Ferozepur when Vineet Kumar, ADC was also present on this occasion.

Inaugurating the programme with the lightening of the lamp, Parminder Singh Pinki said, while the aim of celebrating Women International Day is to remember women who have excelled in various fields, it is also to encourage the new generations with the special tasks undertaken by them.

Giving the various historical and examples from the present society, he said, the progress of women in almost all the fields have proved that they are less than men in any ground.

He said a Women Social Club will shortly be established in Ferozepur.  He invited the girls to contribute with dedication and devotion in sports, education, social and economic sectors to highlight the names of their parents.

On this occasion, 251 newborn babies were honoured besides cutting a cake dedicated to their birthdays and appreciated the administration for organizing the programme.

A cultural programme was presented by the girls' students of local school and colleges.
