All India Car Rally Team- RID 3131 gets warm welcome at Ferozepur
Ferozepur December 15, 2017: With a messages of – Eradicate Polio, Literacy, Save Grils-Educate Girls, Swachh Bharat – the All India Car Rally by a team of Rotary International District – RID 3131 from Pune, was given a warm welcome on reaching Ferozepur, at the land of martyrs Hussainiwala, by covering various places on the way, by members of Rotary Club, Ferozepur led by Vijay Arora, Coordinator Rotarian.
The member of the Car Rally team along with the local members paid floral tributes to the martyrs – Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev at National Martyrs’ Memorial Hussainiwala and later on witnessed the Retreat Ceremony at Indo-Pak border and visited the BSF museum where pistol of Bhagat Singh which he had used for killing British officer John Saunders on December 17, 1928.
Speaking to media persons, Rtn Vijay Arora said, in all 29 members of Rotary International are in the Car Rally team led by Past District Governor Subodh Joshi.
He said the rally which started on December 11, 2017, will reach back to Pune on December 31, 2017, after covering a distance of around 10,000 km by passing through 36 districts of the country in Rajasthan, Jammu, Agra, Kolkata, Banglore, Chennai and Kanyakumari etc.
The main aim of the rally is to create awareness among the people about the social evils and continue to associate in the various public welfare programmes.
In the evening, there was also a discussion session on the various important issues for the welfare of the society.
Present among others were Rtn Harwinder Ghai, President Rotary Club, Rtn Gulshan Sachdeva, Secretary, Rtn Rajesh Malik and Rtn Ashok Behal.
