Around 33 years back, the Operation Blue Star as carried out by the army operation that cleared the Golden temple complex in Amritsar of Sikh militants in 1984, ordered by then Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi which is taken as a deliberate killing of large group of people of Sikh community.

The decision was announced at a press meet addressed by Dal Khalsa head Harpal Singh Cheema President, Dal Khalsa and Baba Avtar Singh Sadhanwala.

Dal Khalsa spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh, Amrik Singh Issru, Surjit Singh Khalistani were present at a press meet.

Outlining the programme, Cheema and Sandhawla said, the Sangat of Malwa zone along with the young activists associated with both the organization carrying saffron flags and images of martyrs would march on June 4, from Village Sidhhanwala to Rode – the native village of Sant Jarnail Singh covering as many as 20 villages and some tehsils.

He said, a message to all the gurdawaras has been passed on to pay rich tributes to the martyrs of 1984.  A resolution condemning the attack on Akal Takhat should be passed and forwarded to the government.

Today, Congress has returned to power in Punjab. But it should not be construed that the Sikh people have forgotten or forgiven the party for perpetrating the attack, said Cheema. They said the wounds of the attack are still simmering, he added.

He said the blood of innocent spilled on the sacred floor of Darbar Sahib cries for justice. No perpetrator has been held accountable for slaughtering hundreds of innocent pilgrims, looting invaluable religious books and arte-facts from Sikh Reference Library and damaging the edifice of Akal Takhat.

They also expressed their concern over the return of sacred literature and rare books collected while damaging the Reference Library.  The Government of India is on denial mode about the articles as both CBI and Defence Ministery have also refuted the charge of any literature taken out during the operation.

Summing up the heinous attack on Sikh faith, he said, the BJP asked for it, the Congress than in government carried out and the whole of India reveled on it. The 1984 Sikh genocide is neither forgettable nor pardonable

In reply to the query from Babushahi.com, they said, it will be a peaceful protest without putting any inconvenience to the common man.

They added, the sections of IPC are being misused and political motivated as none has been punished so far under Section 295 –  Injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class and the Sikhs have been denied the justice even 33 years of incident.

In reply to another query from media persons, they said, during the ten years tenure of last government,  the sections 7/51 and 295 have been misused for registration of cases.  Dera Sirsa is not any religion.  Thus there is no question of hurting their sentiments, added Sandhawala and Cheema.

Sandhawala also said, Sant Singh Bhindawala is being projected by the government as anti-Hindu by putting a gun in his hands but we want to put wiser the people about his real ideology of Punjab’s prosperity, through various means.  In fact, he was protector of Punjab’s water, farmers’ friendly and against the drugs in Punjab.
