BSP demands action against Akali Leader Valtoha for his remarks against Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar
Ferozepur, July 12, 2016 : Bahujan Samaj Party workers today staged protest and submitted a memorandum in the name of Governor Punjab through Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur, for taking action against Virsa Singh Valtoha, Akali MLA
and Chief Parliamentary Secretary, for his remarks against Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedakar – Bharat Ratna Awardee and principal architect of the Constitution of India.
In the memorandum, the BSP leaders have demanded registration of a case, under SC, ST Act and arrest of CPS and Akali Leader, Valtoha for defamatory remarks against B.R.Ambedkar.
Sukhdev Singh Sheera and other BSP leaders said, the Akali leader Virsa Singh Valtoha, few day back, have said in a local TV Channel programme that B.R.Ambedkar is responsible for spreading casteism as he made a provision for reservation of SC and ST categories in the Constitution. There was a great resentment among the people and a protest was made during the programme also.
The leaders further said, with these remarks by Valtoha, he has exposed the casteism feudalism intentions of Akali-BJP. The Akali Dal had always been opponent of Baba Saheb and Virsa Singh Valtoha has openly exposed this reflection.
Valtoha has given the malicious statement as representative of the government and Akali BJP government should tender apology on this issue to redress the sentiments of the people, they added.
Making it clear, they said, in case the case is not registered against Valtoha, the agitation will be intensified by the BSP leaders and workers.
Apart from BSP workers, the present at the time of submitting the memorandum were Sukhdev Singh Sheera, Puran Bhatti, Balwinder Singh Malwa, Ramesh Bhatt, budh Ram Soni, Boota Singh, Malkit Singh and Malkhwinder Kamgar.
