Court grants bail to Dhyan Singh Mand former MP

Ferozepur, April 22, 2016 :  The supporters of Bhai Dhyan Singh Mand, including SAD (Mann) leader Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala, Satnam Singh Manawan welecomed him on his release from Central Jail Ferozepur today and taken in a procession in open jeep.

Added here, Mand, former MP and former senior leaer of Shirmani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) who was declared organizers of the Sarbat Khalsa 2015, was released on bail by H.S.Grewal Addl. District and Sessions Judge, Ferozepur.

Bhai Dhyan Singh Mand was earlier arrested on November 11 about five months back, last after he addressed a gathering of Sikhs at Akal Takht Sahib on Bandi Chhor Day.  He was booked under sedition for his participation in Sarbat Khalsa during 2015 when he was appointed interim jathedar of the Akal Takht by radical Sikh groups. He was detained by the police when he and his followers had shouted slogans in support of Beant Singh’s assassin Jagtar Singh Hawara. Immediate after his bail by the High Court in sedition case, the situation had become tense and he was re-arrested by the Makhu police soon after he was released from maximum security jail Nabha.  Mand was, however, sent to Nabha Jail from security point of view.

Bhai Mand said, we will continue to protest against the highhandedness of Badal government besides preaching for the Sikh religion. He also said that neither we will not bow before the excesses of the government led by Badals nor we will have fear from them.
