Pvt School Managements bow before Parents’ Agitation – Not to charge readmission fee – Schools to open on April 5 in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, April 4, 2016: The ongoing row over charging of fee and supply of books by the private schools ended today with the intervention of Deputy Commissioner and private school managements agreeing not to charge readmission and pressing for purchase of books from the schools. The schools which were closed by the managements will reopen on Tuesday.
Added here, the Parents Association had been agitation for the last few days besides organizing Candle March to register their protest over charging of readmission fee in the city.
Private Schools have also formed their Association to present their point of view. However, the issues were resolved with the written consent over nine points to follow them which includes – no school will sell school uniforms, books stationary to students in the schools and also not pressurize to purchase from a particular shop, school will change the funds as per the orders of the Supreme Court and readmission will not be charged, study will from the books and schools will not press for e-learning and fee will be charged only on giving consent, hike in school fees and annual funds will be as per the rules and Supreme Court directions, school will be collected on monthly basis, details of fee/funds will be displayed on the school notice board and proper receipt will be issued, weaker sections will be given admission under RTE Act, books will be prescribed as per NCERT/Boards syllabus.
Earlier, the private school managements have decided to keep their institutions closed till Monday following protests by certain groups and organizations against excessive fees. However, with these arrangements, all classes were satisfied with the amicable settlement with the intervention of district administration.
