Ferozepur bagged 8 Gold, 11 Silver and 11 Bronze medal in 40th Junior Punjab State Swimming & Water Polo Championship held at Amritsar
Swimming Pool campus to have gym shortly
Ferozepur, June 24, 2015: In the recently concluded 40th Junior Punjab State Swimming & Water Polo Championship held at Amritsar, the Ferozepur swimmers brought laurels to the city by capturing 8 gold, 11 silver and 11 bronze medals.
On reaching Ferozepur, the winners were given a warm welcome by the Baldev Raj Kamboj, Chairman Zila Parishad, Amit Kumar, ADC, Neelima, ADC(D), Sunil Sharma, DSO, Ashwani Grover, President, Municipal Council and Surinder Pal Singh Sooch, President, District Swimming Association.
Speaking on this occasion, Baldev Raj Kamboj said, it is a matter of pleasure that border town swimmers have bagged a good number of medals due to their sincere efforts and right coaching by the coaches. He said, the shortcomings at the swimming pool will be rectified shortly besides opening of gym in the campus.
Tarlochan Singh Bhullar, Secretary, DSA and Swimming Coach, Gagan Mata said, in this three day state level championship, Ferozepur swimmders have bagged 8 gold, 11 silver and 11 bronze medals by Abhikaran Bhullar, Gursimranjit Singh, Harpuneet Singh, Rupjit Walia, Nandini Dewra, Rajul Bajaj, Harkirat Singh, Mink Khanna in butterfly, individual, free style, breast stroke etc.
Present among others on this occasion, were Amrik Singh Bhullar, Member DSA, Harpreet Bhullar, Tony Bhullar Coach, Gurinder Singh State Awardee, Dr.Amripal Singh Sodhi, Dinesh Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Jarnail Singhy Sandhu, Iqbal Singh, Tejinder Khanna, Ravi Chauhan, Rajinder Singh, Tarlok Jindal, Sanjay Gupta, parents and sports lovers.
