Ferozepur, June 17, 2020: District Ferozepur has reported six new Corona positive cases on Wednesday including five close contacts of a Railway official and one fresh case. With this, the total number corona positive cases have gone to 11.
Meanwhile, as many as ten officials who were in contact with the Mechanical branch and C&W Control Office staff – but have no direct contact with Sr.DME who died on Tuesday – have been sent for two days home quarantine up to June 18 and they will work from home and also remain available on phone or other means of communication.
Divulging the details, Additional Deputy Commission (General) Ravinder Singh said that samples of a few close contacts of deceased railway officer were taken out of which five samples of senior officials have been reported positive on Wednesday. The ADC further added that the district administration has immediately invoked the medical protocol fixed by the state government to check the spread of the virus.
Pointing out further, SDM Ferozepur Amit Gupta said that the contact tracing and screening was being done by the Health Officials.
He said that the district administration Ferozepur would leave no stone unturned to contain this disease in the district adding he called upon people to strictly follow the norms fixed by the state government including social distancing, wearing masks and hand washing so that this virus could be kept at bay.
Since the threat of corona in Ferozepur, there were 43 cases, who were mostly from Maharashtra and Rajasthan during shifting including one cop in contact with ACP from Ludhiana, were discharged after recovery by keeping them under quarantine as per the Covid-10 medical protocol. So far there had been two deaths due to Covid in Ferozepur.
