Ferozepur, September 29, 2022: In its drive against the unscrupulous persons, the Ferozepur police nabbed four drug smugglers with 450 gm heroin.
Surindera Lamba, SSP said, the police is working aggressively against drugs and ever ready to deal with any circumstances and keeping a cat-eye on the mischievous elements. During the last three months, 367 persons were involved in drug trade. Asking such persons to remain away from illegal activities, he said, in case of disturbance of peace by any anti-social element, he will not be spared.
He said we have arrested two drug smugglers and two proclaimed offenders under NDPS Act have been arrested. He admitted that the arrested persons have criminal records with backward links.
SSP said, the police is recognizing the services of cops, who excel in their work especially in drugs at the Monday meeting at Police Line, as per the directions of the DGP Punjab.
Divulging with details, SSP Sureindera Lamba said, the CIA team headed by Fateh Singh Brar, DSP(D) with Mohit Dhawan, Incharge CIA Staff, SI Mangal Singh, during the patrolling on September 27, in the area of Arif Ke village, a tip off was received that Surinder Singh and Gurdev Singh of Tarn Taran are drug pushers business, who were nabbed at the T-Point Tega Singh Wala on Mallanwala Road with recoveryof 200 gm heroin and motorcycle. These accused further disclosed that Gurvinder Singh who was also named in the FIR was arrested from Bandala bridge over Sutlej River with recovery of 50 gm heroin. Further, on input by Gurvinder Singh Satnam Singh of Bhikhiwind was arrested from his home on September 28 with recovery of 200 gm heroin hide in the house.
SSP said, all the four will be produced in the court to get remand for further in depth investigation to deal strictly with the other persons involved in this network.
He further disclosed that one assault rifle, two magazines, 60 live cartridges were also recovered on reporting by Darabara Singh from his field after tracking the drone consignment tracking, spotted in the border area. However, further investigations are still on.
