Ferozepur, February 9, 2021:  Continuing with its month long programme of creating Traffic Rules Awareness among the students of local government and private schools, today Mayank Foundation –  leading social organization in the city – a Seminar was conducted  at two private schools – DCM  and DPS Schools, in association with the police department

A month-long programme aimed to create awareness among people to discourage and prevent underage youth from driving besides making others to abide traffic rules and signages while drive and to  reduce road accidents.

Deepak Sharma, founder of Foundation said the safety of the riders and passerby is the prime concern and need of the hour. He expressed concern over the rising rate of accidents and said that the Traffic department is committed to work towards reducing such incidents and appreciated the role played by its men on ground, youth and media.  He asked each student to become the ambassador for spreading the slogan of road safety to save precious lives.

Mayank Foundation was formed in memory of Mayank by his father Deepak Sharma.  Mayank had become a victim of road accident and the family members pledged to take up the social awareness campaign among the students, to avoid deaths on roads due to accidents.

Key-note speakers – Lakhbir Singh, Traffic Lecturer,  Rakesh Kumar Secretary Mayank Foundation, Harish Kumar, Dr.Gazal Preet Arneja, Aswani Sharma,Anil Kumar,ArjnKmar, Deepak Grover, Deepak Narula, ASI Gurmej Singh  – giving the road safety mantra – “Drive in a Queue and Drive at a Distance” – apprised the students of the consequences of violating traffic rules, highlighting the alarming statistics related to road rage. The students were urged to follow traffic rules to maintain safety. They said there is a need to change the mind-set to enjoy the colours of life for a long time by following the traffic rules and maintaining positive attitude their life as the deaths on roads are more than the deaths of jawans whose sacrifice their lives for maintaining peace at the borders.

Posters giving a message of traffic signs on the road sides and to follow traffic rules, were shown to the students and displayed at the Notice Boards of the schools.  A pledge was also administered among the students to strictly follow the traffic rule.

Principal, Rakhi Thakur, VP Manish Banga of DC Model School, Principal Nidhi Jain of Delhi Public School Headmistress GSS Toot Mamdeep Kaur, teachers Jasveer Singh and Charanjeet Singh extended full cooperation in organizing the Seminar with assurance to repeat traffic awareness messages in the classes on regular basis.
