8 mobiles recovered from Ferozepur jail

Ferozepur, December 8, 2022: Among the total 8 mobiles recovered from inside Ferozepur jail, one mobile was recovered during search operation from Thomas, under trial jail inmate, three mobiles from the two packets thrown in the garden and four miles as unclaimed from inside the jail. Apart from this 9 small and one big cigarette pack along with 4 data cables.

Recovery of mobiles and other banned items from inside the jail is a regular feature which speaks of lack of security arrangements at the entry points. There had been chances of throwing packets into the premises from outside containing mobiles, being surrounded by a thickly populated area and thus making easy access of mobile phones to inmates and the purpose of keeping the inmates away from the worldly affairs is also lost.

While a case has been registered against under trial prisoner Thomas under Section 52-A of Prisons Act, two more cases have been registered against unidentified persons at Police station Ferozepur City.
