Ferozepur, April 22, 2021: Three jail inmates and an unidentified person have been booked for violation of jail discipline and assault on staff on catching them picking a thrown ball, which contained opium and zarda.
Frequent recovery of smuggled-in banned items including mobiles and the throwing of packets from outside by unidentified persons over the high rising walls and buildings around the jail have posed a security threat to jail premises.
As per the information, on Wednesday, at 9.30 am, a Casco yellow clour ball fell at the back of the hanging compound and new Barrack No. 6 from outside the jail and when Kuldeep Singh warder who was present there had gone to pick it up, Bhupinder Singh inmate who was also already present there tried to run away, by putting the ball in his right pocket of lower when Kuldeep Singh had other employees over-powered him and recovered the ball. .
