Ferozepur, May 4, 2023:  A ‘Schoolmates Reunion” of 1967 of Harbhagwan Memorial School was held at Ferozepur in which around 25 students, from different parts of the country and locals, met after a gap of 56 years.  The event marked the coming together of the ex-students at school which has helped them build successful professional careers.

The students also visited the school campus and had a round in the classes where they had been studying 56 years back.  Various issues were discussed with the present Principal, Ajit Kumar including the future projects to be sponsored by old pass-out students such as renovation of Map on the ground, installation of RO system, construction of new rooms, up-gradation of Science Lab etc.

Suresh Narang said, the old schoolmates had all the way come from Delhi, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Panchkula, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, to join the Schoolmate Reunion.  Among the old students was a leading CA Ved Vrat Bhalla from Ludhiana, who promised to donate Rs.50,000 for any new project in the school along with the assistance from other students.  As a token of love, Rs.11,000 was also given to the school to start with a promise to meet shortly to finalise the project.

He said, it is not only about maintaining a good relationship or connection with the passed-out students but also the alumni meet makes an institute feel proud of its alumni.  During the meet, all old teachers were remembered, with their specific features of calling the students with their peculiar names and vice versa.

It was lovely meeting all my old pals after so many years. We re-lived our memories and all those days came fresh before our eyes. It was indeed a great experience today,” said Kanwal Oberoi and Satish Kumar, alumni of the HM School.
