12 mobiles recovered from jail during surprise checking
Ferozepur, August 26, 2021: Twelve mobiles were recovered from inside the jail, from different places and of dissimilar brands with batteries and SIM Cards, during the surprise checking by Sukhjinder Singh, Assistant Superintendent.
Added here, frequent recoveries of banned items from inside the jail especially the recovery of most wanted and among the banned items –mobiles -has put a question mark on the security arrangements at the entry points for smuggling in of such items.
The purpose of keeping the criminals away from society as punishment is also lost. during 2020 112 mobiles and in 2021 so far 149 mobiles have been recovered from inside the jail during various raids and inputs, by the vigilant jail staff but still there is a need to tighten the security at the entry points to stop the entry of banned items inside the jail. No doubt the vigilant staff on certain inputs is recovering the mobile yet no arrest has been made so far.
A case against five prisoners and prisoners under trial – Charan Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Gurwinder Singh, Sandeep Singh and Sanju along with an unidentified person has been booked under 52-A Prisons Act and further investigations are on with Roop Singh, appointed as IO.
